2008 Census Conducted

The second census to be conducted in Cambodia since the establishment of the present constitution took place in March. The Ministry of Planning will announce the preliminary results of the census in August and the complete data by 2009. [Xinhua News Agency, reported by KI Media]

Inflation Nears 20%

Increases in the price of gasoline have contributed to a consumer price inflation rate of 18.7% from January 2007 to January 2008. Economists have warned that the continuing rise of gasoline prices might affect prices across the board and slow Cambodia's economy. [Xinhua News Agency, reported by KI Media]
